About Us
Theatons was founded early in 2008 by Tom Herrington, a former systems programmer with the help of his engineer friend, Fred Chaplin. Both are members of internationally recognised intellectual clubs and have IQs in excess of 150. The company was inspired by the Polgár sisters, all of whom were rigorously schooled in chess from a young age and have gone on to become leaders and grand masters in female chess. The idea is that our toys will not only help youngsters develop intellectual faculties, but also help adults sharpen their minds and increase their intellectual prowess.
Chaplin's Chess
Chaplin's Chess is the brainchild of Fred Chaplin. It is designed using over 40 years of psychological studies and meshed with Fred's own observations. The game requires a great deal of mental concentration and is not recommended to anyone who has an IQ lower than 130. Regular playing of Chaplin's Chess will increase problem solving ability and if played in conjunction with the accompanying study on Mathamatical Paradigms book, should also increase ones grasp of maths.
